Meaning
"I surrender to Lord Somnath, who shines in radiant divine light in the beautiful land of Saurashtra, adorned with the crescent moon, and who descends in compassion to bless devotees with devotion."
About this mantra
This mantra comes from the Dwadash Jyotirlinga Stotram, which glorifies the twelve sacred Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva across India. Somnath Jyotirlinga, located in sacred Saurashtra (Gujarat), is one of the most ancient and revered shrines of Lord Shiva. Adorned with the crescent moon, Somnath is worshipped as the radiant, compassionate form of Mahadev who blesses devotees with devotion and grace. Chanting or listening to this Shiva mantra is traditionally believed to support spiritual grounding, emotional peace, and restful sleep.
How to use it
Play this chant softly as you lie down for sleep, or in the quiet of early morning. Dim the lights, breathe slowly, and let the sound repeat without effort — there is nothing to do but listen. You may chant along under your breath, or simply rest in Shiva's presence and let the vibration carry you into stillness.
The recording runs for hours, but you don't need all of it — even 21 minutes a day is enough to feel the benefit. Listen for as long as feels right, or let it play gently through the night.
