Meaning
In the beautiful and sacred land of Ilapura, Lord Shiva shines as the revered one of the whole world. I bow to the greatly generous and compassionate Lord, known as Shri Grishneshwar, and surrender at His divine refuge.
About this mantra
This Shiva Grishneshwar Mantra is a sacred verse traditionally associated with Shri Grishneshwar / Ghushmeshwar Jyotirlinga from the Dwadash Jyotirlinga Stotram. It remembers Lord Shiva as the compassionate and generous divine refuge, shining in the sacred land of Ilapura. The final line, “घृष्णेश्वराख्यं शरणं प्रपद्ये,” expresses deep surrender at the feet of Shri Grishneshwar Mahadev. Listening to or chanting this Shiva mantra is traditionally believed to support peace, devotion, spiritual grounding, protection from negativity, and inner calm. This version is arranged slowly and peacefully for deep sleep, meditation, prayer, and early morning surrender to Mahadev.
How to use it
Play this chant softly as you lie down for sleep, or in the quiet of early morning. Dim the lights, breathe slowly, and let the sound repeat without effort — there is nothing to do but listen. You may chant along under your breath, or simply rest in Shiva's presence and let the vibration carry you into stillness.
The recording runs for hours, but you don't need all of it — even 21 minutes a day is enough to feel the benefit. Listen for as long as feels right, or let it play gently through the night.
