Akshaya Tritiya

The day of imperishable beginnings

Akshaya Tritiya — The day of imperishable beginnings

Akshaya means that which does not diminish. Anything begun on this day — charity, japa, a practice, a household — is traditionally held to continue growing rather than wear away. It is one of the few days that needs no muhurta to be considered auspicious.
